Match Report
Wycombe Abbey U12A vs  County Tournament at LEH
On: Saturday, 12 Mar 2022
Venue: Away

The U12As played brilliantly in their first county tournament today and rose to the challenge of each match. Against St Pauls they went ahead early in the match and stayed ahead, winning comfortably 8-4. In their match against NLCS, they faced a tough physical contest and had to dig deep to close out the game 6-4. The final match against LEH would be the decider and after conceding early, the team got in their stride, getting stronger as the game went on. They defended with heart and spirit, winning the ball countless times and narrowly missing some crucial scoring opportunities. The game ended with a 4-4 draw which meant that goal difference would decide the outcome. The narrowest of margin - 0.9 - was the difference between the two teams on goal difference/average formula and although the girls were disappointed not to have won the game and the tournament, they can be incredibly proud of being unbeaten today. There is much to look forward to for this team and they should be take pride in the manner of their play today!

It is impossible to decide on a Player of the Match so the whole team gets the coach's vote!
